Our Community Commitment

One of Zions Bank’s Guiding Principles is the goal to create value for the communities it serves. The bank’s commitment to corporate giving benefits individuals and families while enhancing the quality of life in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. 

Zions Bank contributes to hundreds of individual organizations annually through donations and sponsorships. Each of the bank’s eight regions has a Giving Committee comprised of the region president and local leadership who review local giving opportunities and meet quarterly to allocate donations. These contributions benefit their local communities in categories including, affordable housing; arts and culture; community development; economic and business development; education; and health and medical services.

Zions Bank encourages employees in every corner of the state take an active role in giving to their communities. Each year, employees donate an estimated 100,000 hours toward community projects and serve on more than 100 different nonprofit different boards and committees.

Employees across the bank’s footprint also take part in company-wide giving and service initiatives, from the annual spring Giving Campaign to the winter food and sock drives. Over the past three decades, Zions Bank employees have painted and fixed up 1,287 homes for older adults, people with disabilities, and veterans during the annual Paint-a-Thon service project. And since 2002, employees have volunteered in schools to teach more than 230,000 K-12 students their financial ABCs.
